My amazing Saturday in San Diego, Part I.
My day was absolutely crazy, in the best way possible (kinda)! >.<
Okay, so! I woke up, got ready, my normal routine. I had plans to hang out with Emily (Here’s her wonderful blog!) at like noon. We’d never met before, a week ago she told me that she lives close to my grandmother’s place (where I’m staying while here in California). So our plan was to go to Pacific Beach (PB) and just drink, have fun, and just kinda have an all around spontaneous day!
So she comes and picks me up, and we start heading to the coast! We stop by a liquor store and buy some rum, and then go get a large coke so that we can drink on the beach without getting in trouble.

And then we got to PB and started walking around on the coast and whatnot. The weather was all cloudy and chilly, so we really didn’t get a chance to be in the sun or go really on the beach (the weather was MUCH nicer inland, it’s just being right on the coast that gave it crappy weather). But we walked all along the coast admiring all of the neat condos they had there, just talking and getting to know each other. When we had finished our drinks we actually had walked quite a ways down the coast. We turned away from the coast and started walking in a little downtown shopping district in PB (Pearl St area, if anyone knows what I’m talking about). And that’s when we discovered this AMAZING rave store!

Well, as we were admiring the store when we walked passed, a guy standing right outside smoking a cigarette asked if we liked raving. I, obviously, LOVE going to raves (I was actually missing Meltdown in Dallas at the moment :[ But oh well!). So he, Emily, and I were all talking about raves we’ve gone to, artists we’ve seen live, and told him I was from out of town and whatnot. Well his name was Chris (Ironic, for those that know my life better than just on my blog, lol.), and he seemed like a really cool guy. He was very obviously gay, but he worked at the boutique store right next door and invited us to come in once we were done looking at the rave store. He had to get back to work from his break, so we went our separate ways.
So here are some pictures from inside the store. Supposedly, Paris Hilton actually shops there for her wigs (there’s a sign with pictures of her in the store and whatnot). But here are some pictures :D

Well after we were done looking around (Thank god I didn’t have my wallet on me! Haha), we headed next door to Chris’ store. He gave us a little store tour and told us about some of the products (It made me realize just how happy I am to be not working in retail anymore). Honestly they had a lot of cute girl clothes, but nothing for guys. He told us he got off of work at 7 and invited us out for drinks in Hillcrest (the gay area of San Diego). Emily and I had been wanting to go out, but she didn’t have her fake with her so that was the only problem we had. But Chris claimed to know several places where he could us in, so we agreed to meet up with him. But he lost his cellphone at a bar and didn’t have one, so Emily gave him her number so he could call us later and coordinate everything. Normally, when you meet someone in PB, it’s never a good thing and is totally sketch. But he seemed like a really cool, fun, down to earth guy! So in the spirit of our spontaneous day, we were really excited to get to go out and have fun!
After that Emily grabbed some pizza so we could use the bathroom, haha >.<

After that we walked back down the coast just talking. We were going to meet up with some of her friends, but they weren’t free. So I grabbed a crêpe (I LOVE crêpes!). It was SOO good! It had cheese, spinach, a cream sauce, and mushrooms.

After that, Emily dropped me back off at my grandma’s house. That way we could clean up, change and whatnot, and then meet up later with Chris for drinks.
So after we got all cleaned up, I headed over to her house. And while driving, made a very embarrassing video of me singing Katy Perry’s “Part of Me” >.< I mean, they have really strict cell phone laws in California while driving. So I shouldn’t have been doing it in the first place, but YOLO! :D And on top of that I was easily going 90mph the whole time… Oops… Haha. But it was SO much fun driving in my grandma’s convertible. It has a V8 engine; so just imagine me top down, music loud, speeding in a turbo car, singing my heart out, in the beautiful California weather! PURE. BLISS.
Here’s the video >.< (I have no shame!!! :D)
(Sorry, I couldn’t figure out how to embed it -.-)
Well I get to Emily’s, and we hop in to go to Hillcrest.
Right as we get to Hillcrest at 7:30 (the time we were going to meet up), Chris calls and says that he missed his bus and that he’d be another 45 minutes. But he offered to pay for our drinks all night if we picked him up. So we head back over to PB to pick him up.
Once we finally pick him up and get to Hillcrest, we park and go into our first stop of the night, Fiesta Cantina. He’s able to get us in, so we weren’t complaining. Well, immediately after arriving, the manager comes up to Chris and tells him that he still has a $50 tab open, and won’t be able to order drinks until he closes it. He said that he’d pay it Monday when he got paid. So he apologizes to us for not being able to buy us drinks here, but that he’d definitely buy us drinks the rest of the night at the other places. So Emily orders her drinks, and I order myself and Chris one (just out of generosity, I didn’t want him to be the only one without a drink). I ordered Chris and myself a cherry whiskey sour. They sound gross, but they’re actually REALLY good. Well, this place here didn’t know how to make them properly and was almost nothing but pure whiskey.
Then we took some pictures!

There were actually a group of four guys signing to each other, and I was able to introduce myself and chat with them for a bit. It was WONDERFUL! :D I think the best part was the fact that they were California signers (For those who don’t know, people who use ASL in California typically go a million miles an hour when they sign [For proof of this, look up videos of Marlee Matlin signing {here’s a link of her signing just to KINDA give you an idea http://youtu.be/2OgBDkckAAI }]), and I was able to understand everything they were saying. So I was REALLY proud of myself for being able to keep up and not be some annoying kid who just likes to think he knows ASL, haha.
Well After that one drink, Chris became very drunk. Very drunk. I mean, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, but he couldn’t even sit up straight. And this is when my night started turning sour. I was having such a WONDERFUL day all day with Emily! It was filled with spontaneity and great times I’ll never forget. From this point out, I’ll just have things I won’t forget… Haha.
It all started when Chris just wouldn’t take his eyes off of me, and I knew from that very moment what intentions were. (This is going to sound conceited, but just deal with me for a couple of moments, haha) He can join the fanclub, there are hundreds of people in line in front of him. So I made it very clear that I was not interested in playing his little games. But he wouldn’t keep his hands off of me. Every time he’d touch me, I’d move away from him, take his hands off of me, or just shrug them off of me. You would think after me moving away from you five times in a row after you touching me, he’d get the picture. But no. So that’s when I started texting Emily about how annoyed I was, and she could tell haha. I wanted to still go out and have a fun time since neither Emily or I had ever been out in California before, but I knew I’d have to deal with him awkwardly trying to get with me all night.
Shortly thereafter we left Fiesta Cantina for another bar, but he wasn’t able to get Emily in, so we left for a restaurant/bar place so Chris could eat, since he was very drunk and Emily were trying to convince him that he was both drunk and needed to eat. -.-
We were told this restaurant was only like four blocks away. Well, fifteen minutes of walking later (not that I have an issue with walking that far, but you can see that my patience was wearing thin with this kid [We never actually found out his age, but he had to have been around 25 or so]) we finally get to this place. When we walked in, I asked the hostest where the restrooms were. Chris grabs my hand and said that he’d show me. He had crossed multiple lines already, and I was NOT in the mood. I pulled my hand out of his grip and told him to go sit down. While in the restroom I get a text from Emily saying that Chris is afraid that I don’t like him. Which I didn’t. But I was glad he was finally getting the point that he needs to learn his place.
I get to the table and start looking at the drink menu. Emily and I were just going to drink while Chris ate and drank. Chris orders this giant 32 oz. margarita which was really strong, and that’s when I knew this night was just going downhill. I ordered a Tiger-rita (which was REALLY good, actually), and because the waitress ID’d me, Emily skipped on ordering her wine. Emily and I were both pretty sober and annoyed at this point. Well Chris kept using Emily’s phone to try to contact one of his friends to meet up with us (it was barely 9:00pm at this point), and there was also this “emergency” so he needed her to call him immediately. She finally responds and says that she won’t get off of work until 1:00am. No WAY in hell am I dealing with his drunk ass that long. Well the emergency that he was having was that his lease was up that day, and he needed to stay with her until he found another place to stay.
I mean, I’m trying not to judge this guy, but FUCK. Your lease just doesn’t magically end one day. You know very damn well in advance when it’s up, and you need to coordinate accordingly. This guy who was plastered by 9:00pm, who was just a total mess, wouldn’t stop calling me annoying pet names and asking if I didn’t like him or if I was having fun, and had to have been at least 25 was REALLY starting to piss me off. He was getting belligerent so I tore into him. I told him that he needed to get his shit straight, he needed to sober up, be responsible, and act his fucking age because I was NOT going to put up with it much longer and I am not going to babysit his drunk ass.
I felt bad for being such a blunt asshole, but I feel it was totally called for. So we finished the meal with little chatter. He kept apologizing and saying how he just wanted to show us a good time. Chris started to slouch over in his chair and had to hold in his tears. So after a while I escorted him to the bathroom so he could clean up his face.
It was at this point when we got back to the table that I asked our waitress for the check. Chris still have almost all of his giant margarita left, and made a big deal about how he needed to finish it because he didn’t want to waste it. I mean, I’m all for not wasting alcohol, but when you’re wasted and it’s not even 10pm, you need to just cut your losses. The night, as annoying as it already had been, is about to take a turn for the worst.
The last straw comes when the waitress comes back and says that his card has been declined. He was too drunk to even comprehend what was going on, and was franticly looking around for his other card which he couldn’t find. Neither Emily or I were about to pay $40+ for this drunk ass’ bill. He left his bag in Emily’s car, so Emily and I decided to walk back and see if we could find his other card for him. We told our waitress that we were going to the car to look, and that he was going to still be at the table.
Well while Emily and I are walking back and talking about the UNBELIEVABLE night that we had just had, we swore off hanging out with strangers we just met at PB ever again! Hahaha. We get to the car, look through his bags only to find a fuckton of receipts and trash. No cards or any other way to paying for his tab. So we decide to just cut our losses and leave him there. We took his bags to the first place we went since he knew some of the people there and told him that they were Chris’. We texted his friend where Chris was and where his stuff was and drove back to Emily’s!
OH. MY. GOSH. Most bizarre night ever. I mean, Emily and I were having just such a wonderful day! And then we were all excited to get to go out! And then this crazy sketchy bitch goes and pulls all this shit. LIKE WTF?!?!
Well we get back to Emily’s where my car is parked, and then I head back to my grandma’s.
BUT! My night doesn’t end there!!! I’m about to go visit family and do some shopping, so part II will have to wait until later tonight. But I’ll let you know when I post it and everything. The one draw back is that I’m going to put a password for part II, so you’ll have to message me so I can give you password. There’s to be a password since I don’t want just anyone reading it, and I feel if you’re willing to come forward and admit that you want to read it, then I feel that I can trust you and will let you read it! So don’t be shy :D
